Uptime Services were engaged by Barwon Water Alliance to upgrade the existing Barwon Heads Sewage Pump Station # 1. The upgrade works included construction of a new concrete valve pit and slab lid over the existing well.
Supply and placement of a new concrete flow meter pit. Supply and installation of new rising main pipe work and valves. Replacement of old pumps, valves, flowmeter and pipe work. A new wet washer system including pipe work and actuation valve.
New stainless steel access ladders, aluminium access hatches and handrails.
Supply and various improvements to the existing system switch board. Supply and installation of a new Odour Control System and new Ventilation Fan.
In order to maintain wastewater services to the Barwon Heads community, this project also required the establishment and maintenance of wastewater by-passing facilities for the duration of the upgrade activities. Stakeholder consultation was of the highest order as the site of the works was within the grounds of the local RSL property as well as being directly adjacent residential properties.
