Fabrication of replacement support trusses for the weir gates and design, fabrication and installation of a new walkway at Redbank Weir, on the Murrumbidgee River.
The straightness of the replacement trusses for the weir gates was critical during the fabrication stage and welding techniques were developed to maintain the tight tolerance.
Installation of the new walkway was achieved by lowering the sections of walkway on top barges and floating them into position. Once the walkway sections were in position the height of the water level in the weir was lowered and the walkways secured to their anchor points.
